Jaguar Land Rover begins bookings in India for Range Rover Sport SVR and Range Rover SVAutobiography

Jaguar Land Rover has started accepting bookings for the high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR as well as the more luxury-focused Range Rover SVAutobiography. Both SUVs have been developed by JLR's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) and come with a raft of changes to separate them from the standard cars.

Range Rover Sport SVR

The SVAutobiography is the flagship of the Range Rover line-up and was recently facelifted for international markets. The SVAutobiography gets touches like two standalone recliner seats at the back,  24-way 'Hot-Stone' massage seats in the front, separated by a  power-deployable centre console with premium veneer finishers, electronically deployable rear tables, and an integrated 10-inch touchscreen rear entertainment screens with 4G WiFi connectivity. A wine-cooler is also available in between the two backseats while the interior now gets the latest generation dual-touchscreen set up from the Velar.  Other features are power close rear doors, laser LED headlights and a Meridian sound system.

Range Rover SVAutobiography LWB

The Indian car is getting the 4.4L SDV8 diesel engine with 340PS/740Nm in both SWB and LWB and the supercharged 5.0-litre petrol V8 with 565PS/700Nm only in SWB. a power-deployable centre console with premium veneer finishers and a multitude of seating variations including . Amidst the car's exhaustive portfolio of convenient features are Power Close rear doors, a concealed refrigerator, Pixel-Laser LED headlights with Signature DRLs and a Meridian Signature sound system.

Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic

The updated Range Rover Sport SVR also makes its way to India. The supercharged 5.0-litre petrol V8 now makes 590 PS of power and 700 Nm of torque. Other changes made specifically to this car by SVO include new front air inlets, optional exposed carbon fibre bonnet, stiffer suspension and increased use of lightweight materials to enhance performance, handling and agility. The overall effect of this is the 280 kmph top speed and a 0 to 100 kmph time of 4.5s. The engineers at SVO have focused on controlling pitch under heavy acceleration and braking, and changes to the damping hardware have improved turn-in, mid-corner grip and body control.

Jaguar Land Rover is on a strong product offensive in India, where it lags behind the three German brands. The company has ten launches planned for this year in India, and it has also been investing money globally in new products and tech to bridge the gap.
