2014 Toyota Corolla Altis launched in India at Rs 11.99 lakh
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the new Corolla Altis in India at Rs 11.99 lakh ex-Delhi. The new 11th generation Toyota Corolla Altis is available in both petrol and diesel variants in nine trim levels. While the petrol line starts at the aforementioned price, the diesel range begins from Rs 13.07 lakh.
Changes in the new car include a fresh face complete with LED headlamps, new radiator grille, R16 alloy wheels, rear chrome garnish and LED tail lamps. Toyota has lowered the ride height by 5mm to aim for better aerodynamics and handling. TKM is also offering the new Altis with an accessory package called 'the benchmark collection'. This adds more chrome and daytime running lamps to add to the external aesthetics.

The dashboard has a piano black instrument panel along with a 3-spoke steering with Bluetooth control on it. The meter dials are also new while TKM has provided illumination for the cupholder and door sills. The wheelbase has been increased for the new Corolla by 100mm. This and the reclining rear seat add to the comfort factor.
Both the petrol and diesel engines have been carried over from the outgoing car. The 1.8-litre dual VVTi petrol motor makes 140PS and 173Nm. It comes mated to a 7-speed CVT and a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel on the other hand is the 88.4PS 1.4-litre turbo unit which gets a 6-speed manual transmission.
