With one of the biggest stalls at the 2016 Auto Expo, Hyundai showcased a number of cars and technologies. Taking the lead, of course, was the Tucson. The Tucson is Hyundai's contender for the mid-size SUV segment and should go head to head with the Mahindra XUV 500, Renault Duster and the like. Hyundai also had on display a compact SUV concept. Christened the HND-14, the vehicle was developed at Hyundai's Namyang Design Centre. It falls under the 4 metre length cap and should go up agains the likes of the Vitara Brezza, EcoSport and TUV 300. Also unveiled at the pavilion was the Genesis luxury sedan.
One of the more interesting concepts on display at Hyundai was the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo. This concept race car was built for use in the Gran Tursimo racing game. It is a showcase of the capabilities and strengths of Hyundai's N division.Aside from these cars, Hyundai also had a Sonata with electric powertrain and all the products that are already on sale in India.
Apart from the cars Hyundai also showcased a lot of their tech at their Auto Expo exhibit. There was the downsized Kappa 1.0 GDI motor, the Kappa 1.4-litre T-GDI motor, a new seven speed dial clutch transmission and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
