At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off – or should we say the roofs off – the C-Class Cabriolet and the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Cabriolet. The C-Class Cabriolet is the cheapest drop-top from Mercedes-Benz while the C 43 4Matic Cabriolet is its more powerful half-AMG sibling. With the soft fabric roof up, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet bears quite a bit of resemblance to the C-Class Coupe, but with top down, it reminds you of the S-Class Cabriolet.

As an option the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet and the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Cabriolet get the Aircap automatic draught stop system and the Airscarf neck-level heating system like in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is offered with the regular petrol and diesel powertrains seen in the C-Class Coupe, while the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Cabriolet is powered by the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 seen in the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet and the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Cabriolet get an adaptive climate control which adjusts its functions automatically depending on whether the car is being driven with the roof up or down. When the soft-top is up, the system works as it would in a regular coupe, but when the roof is dropped, it blows warm air (in cold climates) on the driver's hands and also switches off the recirculation function.

The fabric roof is made of the same material used in the S-Class Cabriolet's roof. The multi-layer acoustic soft top is available in four colours – dark brown, dark blue, dark red and black. The roof can be raised or lowered within 20 seconds at speeds of up to 50kmph.
