The words fastest and Nurburgring don't often have SUV around it but the Alfa Romeo's all-new Stelvio might just be tagged as one. At the 2016 Los Angeles Motor, Italian automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo has showcased the all-new Stelvio SUV which takes its name from Stelvio pass in Italy. This latest offering shares its underpinnings with the gorgeous Giulia sedan and will be offered with two turbocharged motors.

Just like the other offerings from Alfa Romeo, the Stelvio too looks extremely impressive. The front carries the same design theme as the Giulia sedan while the silhouette gets a completely new profile. Although, this is the first SUV to be rolled out from the Fiat Cassino plant in Italy, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio has got all the design and styling cues right at the first go itself. It gets the triangular grille, wide air mesh on the front bumper and louvres on the bonnet, all of which are familiar traits seen on the portfolio models.

The feature list that will be offered on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio include a full-colour 7.0-inch thin film transistor (TFT) cluster display with analogue gauges. This system also has a rotary dial for operating the high-resolution infotainment unit which offers vehicle performance statistics in addition to the regular options of Bluetooth telephony and 3D navigation. Alfa Romeo offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard on all the trims of the Stelvio. The other features in this SUV include 18-inch aluminium wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, reverse camera with park assist, automatic tailgate as well as push button for ignition. The more premium Stelvio Ti gets 19-inch wheels as standard with wooden veneers and a 8.8-inch infotainment screen. In terms of safety, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio will come equipped with eight airbags.

The top of the line Stelvio Quadrifoglio makes use of a 2.9-liter direct-injection bi-turbo V6 motor that churns out a mighty 505PS and 600Nm of torque. Alfa Romeo claims that this motor can reach 100kmph in 3.9 seconds. It comes with a standard Q4 all-wheel-drive system.
