2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe launched, prices begin at Rs 62.70 lakh
Mercedes-Benz India launched the GLC Coupe at an event held at its dealership, Sundaram Motors, in Bengaluru. We have previously only witnessed the GLC Coupe in its Affalterbach flavour - the GLC 43 Coupe AMG, but this time around it is available with the more sober powertrains and therefore, prices now start at a tempting Rs 62.70 lakh. The 2020 GLC Coupe comes close on the heels of 2020 Auto Expo, and joins its conventional crossover sibling, the GLC-Class, which was recently given its midlife makeover. All the design changes we saw on the new GLC, filter down to the GLC Coupe as well.
To that effect, you see a new diamond grille, the streamlined lights elements - front and rear, and smaller alloy wheels which go with its comfort biased nature, compared to its AMG counterpart. The cabin looks very similar to the GLC, boasting of a new instrumentation and a larger infotainment system which now features Apple CarPlay and the acclaimed MBUX operating system with the "Hey Mercedes" digital voice assistant feature.
The aforementioned sober powertrain options give the GLC Coupe new badges - 300 and 300d. The GLC 300 Coupe is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol good for 255PS of power, while the 300d uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel good for 245PS and 500Nm. Both engines are mated to Merc's acclaimed 9-speed transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
The variant-wise pricing for the 2020 GLC Coupe is as follows:
GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe - ₹62.70 lakh
GLC 300d 4MATIC Coupe - ₹63.70 lakh
