Atsushi Ogata takes over as new CEO and president for Honda 2Wheelers
Honda 2wheelers announced Atsushi Ogata as the new CEO and president of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI). Atsushi Ogata takes the place of Minoru Kato, who returns to Japan after working in India for three years. Minoru Kato will be joining Honda Motor Co. Japan as operating executive & chief officer life creation operation.
Atsushi Ogata was born in 1962 and started his career in Honda Japan in 1985. He was taking care of the sales division in Honda Motor Europe Ltd as the general manager in 2000. From 2006-2010 he was Shanghai, China as the general manager in the sales division of Sundiro Honda Co., Ltd and later he became the President of Wuyang Honda Motor Co in Guangzhou, China.
In 2015 Atsushi Ogata returned to Japan as general manager of motorcycle operation office and then in 2018 he moved to Asian Honda Motor Co. Ltd. in Thailand as the director of Honda's regional operations in Asia & Oceania region for both motorcycle and power products business. He was promoted as executive director in 2019 in the same profile. He has 35 years of experience in the company across Europe, Japan, China and Asia & Oceania.
Apart from this, the top management has also been changed a little to further strengthen the senior leadership team. V Sridhar is now the senior director of purchase at HMSI, prior to this he was GVP & director of manufacturing at HMSI. Yadvinder Singh Guleria and Vinay Dhingra are now members of the board of directors at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.
Yadvinder Singh Guleria will now be responsible for customer service, logistics planning & control, premium motorcycle business, brand & communication along with sales & marketing. And Vinay Dhingra will take care of the strategic information system (SIS) along with general & corporate Affairs. Along with these changes, Anupam Mohindroo and Harbhajan Singh have retired from the board of directors.
