Auto Expo 2012 - Mini launched in India

BMW India launched the Mini brand at the 2012 Auto Expo. The Mini variants which were launched are Mini Cooper at Rs 24.9 lakh, Mini Cooper S at Rs 27.9 lakh, Mini convertible at Rs 29.99 lakh and Mini Countryman at Rs 31.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The Mini brand will be sold through standalone dealerships in Mumbai and New Delhi. All the models are available with the choice of petrol engines and six-speed automatic transmission.

BMW also launched the performance variant of the 5 series, the BMW M5. The M5 gets a 4.4-litre V8 engine with twin turbos developing 567PS and top speed of 250 kmph. BMW claims that the M5 moves from 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds. The ex-showroom price of the new BMW M5 is Rs 95,90,000.
