BMW reveals the most powerful M5 ever
BMW's M5 has completed 30 years and to celebrate this milestone, the company's 'M' performance division has unveiled a special-edition version of the current, fifth-generation model. This edition edition is called the BMW M5 '30 Jahre M5', a name that is literally translated to '30 years of the M5'.

The 30 Jahre M5 will be limited to a production run of only 300 units and is more than just a badge and paint job. Tweaks made to the engine imply that this M5 not only surpasses its predecessors in power but also others cars from the BMW fold. Power is delivered through the same 4.4-litre, twin turbocharged V8 which now produces 608.5PS of max power and a peak torque of 700Nm. These figures are 32PS and 18.9Nm more than the standard M5.

Transmission is via the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, propelling this performance sedan from 0-100kmph in a claimed 3.9 seconds. BMW says that the 30 Jahre M5 will give a combined fuel efficiency of 10.10kmpl which is impressive, considering the supercar-like performance this sedan commands. Carbon emissions stand at 231gm/km.
The interior will get a mix of black leather and Alcantara
The 30 Jahre M5 can be distinguished from the standard M5 by the 30 edition badges affixed to the body and the dark chrome surrounds on the signature kidney grille. The interior will get a mix of black leather and Alcantara, lending to it that premium feel. Unfortunately, BMW has not yet said anything about this exclusive edition of the high-performance sedan coming to India.
