Coronavirus impact: TVS resumes operations at all plants across the country
TVS has restarted operations at its manufacturing plants in Nalagarh, Mysuru and Hosur. The company is well-prepared with safety guidelines that ensure the protection of its employees. The company took this decision after the government had allowed industrial activities partially. A manual has been circulated among the employees at all facilities, which explains the safety measures and protocols to be followed while working at the plant. It includes hygiene practices and social distancing methods to be followed during work. Only those who are critical to the functioning of the facility are required to be present, the rest are still continuing to follow the 'work from home' initiative.
Along with TVS, manufacturers like Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and Bajaj have also started resuming work at their facilities in a phased manner. It was a very important step to revive the auto sector and to resurrect cash flow across the manufacturing chains. Many of the companies recorded zero domestic sales for the first time and it is very important for the demand sector to also pick up the pace to maintain balance.
And considering the lockdown that has been extended for the third time, many companies have launched digital platforms with lucrative deals to function during this period. Customers can book vehicles online and take test drives, the paperwork, consultation and other procedures have also been digitised for the convenience of the customers. Customers can pay online and a brand new disinfected vehicle will be delivered at their doorstep.
It is possible that the demand for vehicles will see a hike, as people will not prefer public transport in the near future because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
