Events this week: Mercedes-Benz GLC launch, KTM Orange Day in Vizag and MotoGP Catalunya

1) Mercedes-Benz GLC launch

Date: 02/06/2016

Location: New Delhi

Details: Mercedes-Benz is launching the GLC in India. The GLC slots in between the GLA and the GLE to take on the Q5 and the X3. Internationally, the GLC is the replacement for the GLK, which never came to India. Halley has already driven the GLC in India and thinks that GLC will take the fight right to the competition. The launch is for invitees only, so you'll need to be on the list to get in.

2) Mahindra e-Verito launch

Date: 02/06/2016

Location: New Delhi

Details: Mahindra's new electric vehicle, the e-Verito, is finally being launched in India. The electric car was first shown at the Auto Expo in 2014 and was supposed to be launched in April 2016. his is a pure electric car – a 3-phase 72V electric motor which produces 41PS/91Nm. The company claims a top speed of 86kmph. A full charge will take around eight hours, however, Mahindra's fast charge mode available on the D6 trim will help reduce that to one and a half hours. The launch is for invitees only, so you'll need to be on the list to get in.

3) Triumph Thruxton R launch

Date: 03/06/2016

Location: Mumbai

Details: Triumph is finally launching the Thruxton R in India. After having unveiled the motorcycle at the Auto Expo, they have been launching the new Bonneville line in phases. The Street Twin was first and then came the T120. With the Thruxton R, the entire Bonneville line has become complete in India. Triumph will also launch the various Inspiration Kits for the Street Twin at the same time. The launch is for invitees only, so you'll need to be on the list to get in.

4) KTM Orange Day - Vizag

Date: 04/06/2016

Location: HiFY Go Karting Arena, Bheemili

Details: KTM Orange days have closed circuit races that are designed to give KTM owners a taste of motorsport. The races are usually conducted on small circuits purpose built for the smaller KTMs. The Vizag edition will let you race against some Yamaha R15s and Honda CBR 150Rs too. 5) MotoGP Catalunya

Date: 04/06/2016 to 05/06/2016

Location: Catalunya, Spain

Details: Catalunya round of the MotoGP. Catch the local telecast on Ten Sports starting 12.30PM on Saturday and Sunday. Or you can get a monthly or yearly Videopass at roughly Rs 1,900 or Rs 6,800 on MotoGP.com. The last round in Mugello was a scorcher of a race with Rossi having to retire due to engine failure and Marquez and Lorenzo fighting for first place right up to the finish line. 6) Mahindra Mojo Trails: Registrations open for the Mountain Trail

Location: Ladakh

Details: Registrations are now open for the Mojo Mountain Trail. What is it?  Mahindra Mojos are out on the most scenic locales in the country. Mahindra is organising this ride for all Mojo owners. The ride will kick off from Delhi and traverse over 2,700km over the Gangetic Plains and the Ladakhi mountains. Visit places like Leh, Pangong Tso and Nubra Valley as part of the tour. The tour will last for 15 days and 14 nights.

7) Frame the Star: Registration closes on 31st May

Date: 31/05/2016

Details: Love clicking automobiles? "Frame The Star – Urban Hunters" is inviting participants to shoot any four wheeler as a part of their composition or photostory under the given themes. Even filmmakers can submit their entries by shooting any cars as an important aspect of the story or production. The film should be a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 5 minutes long. 20 finalists, 10 each from stills and films, will compete in a unique, all-expenses-paid face-off, with other invited artists selected by the Better Photography team. Winners will get a chance to drive away a premium Mercedes-Benz for one year.
