Following the teaser images and videos of the fastest Ferrari ever built, Maranello has finally unveiled the supercar. The F12berlinetta's 6262cc V12 engine produces a mind numbing 750PS of power and an equally gut wrenching 690Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission and along with a dry weight of 1525kg promises a 0-100kmph time of 3.1 seconds and 0-200 in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 340kmph. Ferrari claims fuel consumption has been reduced by 30 per cent to give an overall efficiency of 6.67kmpl.

How did they manage this feat? Ferrari have reduced the drag coefficient of this vehicle to just 0.299, a result of using the Aero Bridge which uses the bonnet to generate downforce by channelling air away from the upper part of the car to its flanks where it interacts with the wake from the wheel wells to decrease drag. Also helping in reducing the drag is the Active Brake Cooling, a system that opens guide vanes to the brake cooling ducts only at high operating temperatures. The Prancing Horse completed a lap around Fiorano in just 1:23 while its predecessor 599 did it in 1:24. Reigning all this power in is the latest generation carbon ceramic brakes and magnetorheological suspension control system (SCM-E) with a full integration of E-Diff, ESP Premium, F1-Trac and ABS.

The F12berlinetta's design is the result of the collaboration between Pininfarina and Ferrari Styling Centre. It is a coupe with aggressive design elements. The interiors get Frau leather and the dashboard has aluminium air vents along with carbon fibre trims.

The Ferrari F12berlinetta will be officially shown at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
