Ford announces Signature Edition range of accessories for EcoSport in India
Ford India has announced a new line of accessories for the EcoSport. Called the Signature Edition, the accessories are available only for the EcoSport Black Titanium trim which was launched recently. The Ford EcoSport Black Signature Edition is priced at Rs 9.26 lakh for the petrol Titanium trim, ex-Delhi. The price is inclusive of Rs 37,894 worth accessories. Ford India intends to run this accessories package throughout the festive season. Whether it will choose to continue the accessories package even at a later date is not yet confirmed.
The list of Signature Edition accessories includes LED lights which can be positioned just below the fog lamps, appliques for both the front and rear bumpers, body graphics, illuminated scuff plates and red stitching for the black vinyl seat covers. It may be noted that the Black Editions themselves come with a black - grille, blacked-out headlamp moulds, fog lamp cases, mirror covers and roof rails. All the accessories of the Signature Edition will be fitted at the dealer level and are covered under warranty.
It has been three years since Ford launched the EcoSport compact SUV in India. While the company has been regularly adding and deleting features from this compact SUV, there have been no major changes until earlier this year when the 100PS diesel engine was introduced. Ford also slashed nearly Rs 1 lakh off the asking price of the EcoSport in India. Currently the car is available with a choice of a 121PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol, 1.5-litre 112PS petrol and 100PS diesel engines. There is also the choice of dual-clutch automatic and manual transmissions.
Globally, the Ford EcoSport facelift has been spotted testing multiple times. The main changes that one can see are the revised bumpers and the lack of a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. It is likely that the facelift will make its way down to the Indian market sometime next year. Expect the same engines to continue, albeit with a minor increase in efficiency.
