American carmaker Ford has unveiled the new Ford EcoSport compact SUV for Europe, and the launch of the Ford EcoSport refresh is expected in India by November 2017. The facelifted Ford EcoSport features a more powerful and efficient diesel and petrol engine options - the latter in three states of tune. The Ford EcoSport gets a more rugged look with details in black, larger wheels, as well as a more modern interior and sophisticated driver-assist technologies. While many of these features may not end up in the refresh model for India, but one thing is certain - the new Ford EcoSport looks more brutish than its predecessor. Here's a look:

Ford EcoSport features a larger black trapezoidal front grille surrounded by sharper headlamps featuring DRLs and angular fog lights for a rugged look

Ford Europe offers 12 colour options on the EcoSport with customisation options including contrasting colours for roof, pillars, and mirrors for a sporty touch

The EcoSport gets a new 125PS 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine option that manages 22.22kmpl (company claimed), as well as 1-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with 100, 125, and 140PS outputs

Ford offers larger 17 or 18-inch wheels in four colours. Ford's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive detects road grip of each tyre and adjusts torque delivery up to 50-50 between front and rear

Ford EcoSport gets gearbox options in the form a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters

Inside, the EcoSport's trim is an ecological suede made from recycled polyester, dash gets an 8-inch floating touchscreen with Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system, a B&O Play sound system, cruise control and adjustable speed limiter
