Gaurav Gill nominated for 2019 Arjuna Award
The selection committee for Sports Awards 2019 has recommended a list of names to the Indian Government for various sports awards for the year. This year, the list of names nominated for the 2019 Arjuna Award, also includes three-time Asia-Pacific Rally Champion, Gaurav Gill.
Gaurav Gill has been selected for the 2019 Arjuna Award
While the awards are only officially going to be announced on the 25th of September 2019, Gill's name making it to the list of sports people nominated for the Arjuna Award means that he will almost certainly win the prize.
Gaurav Gill has won the APRC title in 2013, 2016 and 2017 with Team MRF-Skoda. He has also won the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) title six times. In 2018, Gill competed in three rounds of the WRC2 championship as a non-priority entry. And in 2019, he is expected to compete in another three WRC2 events - Rally Turkey, Wales Rally GB and Rally Australia - with JK Tyre. He is also competing in the 2019 INRC with Team Mahindra Adventure and is hoping to defend his title.
