GST effect: Tata Motors is offering a price cut of up to Rs 3,300-2.17 lakh across its range in India
Tata Motors has joined the long list of manufacturers who are offering a reduced price on their offerings in India, post GST. Tata Motors has announced that it will be offering a price reduction of up to Rs 3,300 on the Tiago and Rs 2.17 lakh on the Hexa MPV. Depending on the model and variant, this price reduction is almost 12 per cent of the vehicle's ex-showroom price, pre-GST. While dealers we contacted said that the post GST prices will be out in a few days, we have the exact price reduction on popular Tata models like the Tiago, Tigor and Hexa,
Commenting on the price reduction, Mayank Pareek, president, passenger vehicles business unit, Tata Motors, said, "We whole-heartedly welcome the initiative by the Union Government for introducing GST thereby bringing in one uniform tax across the country. This will enhance the ease of doing business and usher in a new era for the economy in general and especially, for the automotive industry. Following the roll out of GST, we have decided to pass on the entire benefit to our customers. We are offering a price reduction of upto 12% ranging between INR. 3300 and INR. 217000 depending on the model and variant. With a strong focus to encourage positive buying sentiments, we have taken this step."
In the coming months, Tata Motors is expected to launch its all-new Nexon SUV in the market. The sub-4m SUV will have a set of new engines and slog it out against the Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. We will be driving the car soon. Keep an eye out on the first drive
