Hero MotoCorp gives 100 scooters to women police officers of Gorakhpur Police Department
Indian two-wheeler major Hero MoroCorp has given 100 units of Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125 to women police officers from Gorakhnath Mandir, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, in an initiative to promote women empowerment in the country. Both these scooters have been modified with GPS system, sirens, flash lights, public announcement (PA) systems, pepper spray and other essential police accessories while will help women cops, part of special Sherni Dasta squad, perform the patrolling duties more effectively, mentioned the company.

The company mentions that so far it has associated with as many as 11 state police departments in the country which include Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Karnataka, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh and one Union Territory Puducherry. The company has handed over more than 2,900 two-wheelers to police departments of all these states and has empowered many women police officers under its CSR initiative called Project Sakhi.
Earlier this month, Hero MotoCorp announced going completely contactless with its latest online sales platform called eSHOP. While it does not replace the conventional means of buying a vehicle that is by visiting a dealership, the online sales platform will offer an end-to-end seamless experience where a customers can book his vehicle and get it delivered too from his/her choice of dealership. Hero has set a dedicated website to accept complete payments of bookings of customers. The eShop platform also caters to customers seeking finance option. The sales assistant will assist in all the customers' queries and guide them through the remaining steps like documentation, finance, invoicing, insurance, registration and delivery, with an option of home delivery. Once the order is created, the customer receives a SMS with a link that directs him/her to the document uploading section
