Honda Motorcycles opens 100th pre-owned 'Best Deal' dealership in India
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has opened its 100th pre-owned motorcycle dealership in the country. While many carmakers have their own pre-owned business, HMSI is the only one to operate in the motorcycle segment. Jhaveri Honda Best Deal is located at 3, Arun Chambers, next to AC Market, Tardeo, Mumbai - 400034. This outlet sells certified pre-owned Honda motorcycles and scooters, with the company opting to auction off other brand motorcycles through Shriram Automall and CredR.
HMSI has been operating in the certified pre-owned motorcycle space from almost five years. The company has seen about 55 per cent growth in the pre-owned dealer network recently and has seen an increase in sales by 25 per cent. YS Guleria, senior VP, sales and marketing, HMSI, said that the company as of now has 819 new motorcycles dealers in the country and wants almost all the dealerships to participate in this programme.
While most of the dealerships in Mumbai and other regions manage to sell around 25 bikes in a month, Hyderabad for example sells 80 motorcycles. Guleria is also of the opinion that market maturity is the key for buying used motorcycles. In Thailand, Honda has a 80 per cent share in the used motorcycle market. In India, however, scooters capture the majority of Honda's used motorcycles market.
All pre-owned motorcycles that HMSI procures through customers go through rigorous quality checks. Out of these, Honda motorcycles are refurbished with original parts and then sold with six-month warranty, two free services and aftersales support. HMSI also takes care of the transfer and ownership process for the new customer.
