Hyundai India receives Top Exporter of the Year award
Hyundai Motor India LImited (HMIL) has been named Top Exporter of the Year for 2011-12 in the category of 'Large Enterprises' (Southern Region) by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) India. Minister of Industries and Information Technology of Kerala PK Kunhalikutty presented the award to senior Hyundai officials at a ceremony held in Trivandrum.

Hyundai began exporting cars in 1999, and by exporting the 10,00,000th car in February, 2010; it became the 'fastest' Indian passenger car manufacturer to achieve this milestone. Hyundai holds a market share of 48 per cent in the Indian automobile industry, and reportedly exported 2,50,005 cars to diverse markets such as Latin America, Middle East, European Union and Africa in 2012.
Currently, Hyundai exports around 40per cent of its total production to around 125 countries. It also boasts a fully integrated state-of-the-art manufacturing plant near Chennai with advanced production, quality and testing capabilities.

In India, Hyundai offers nine cars: Eon, Santro, i10, Grand i10, i20, Verna, Elantra, Sonata and the Santa Fe.
