BMW has just unveiled the fourth-generation of the BMW X5 SUV. The new SUV is bigger inside and out. The X5 comes with a host of new features, the latest in safety tech and a seven-seater option as well. In terms of styling, the X5 follows the theme set by the recently launched X3.

The rear-end design is unique among other BMW SUVs and a split tailgate is also available

The new X5 moves to BMW's latest CLAR architecture which debuted with the latest 7-Series

Dimensionally, the car has grown inside and out

There is a new 12-inch touchscreen system in the centre console and a host of new tech features

All engines come mated to an eight-speed torque converter automatic and four-wheel drive. An off-road mode is being offered for the first time

All LED headlamps are standard but an optional laser lighting system is available

The new car gets an updated range of six-cylinder and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel motors
