India bound Kia Tusker spied testing once again
Kia is preparing to debut in the Indian market with a compact SUV by the month of May. The Korean manufacturer will bring the Tusker, a compact SUV based on the SP concept which was showcased in the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.
Camouflaged KIA Tusker spotted on test in the international market
The test mule of the Kia Tusker was spotted heavily camouflaged, however, the compact SUV displayed a tall stance. The exposed bits displayed the grille which is very closely styled to the honeycomb grille that was showcased on the concept car in the 2018 Auto Expo. Moving to the side of the upcoming Kia Tusker - the compact SUV exhibited a sloping roofline and was equipped with five-spoke alloy wheels.

The Kia Tusker would come with a choice of petrol and a diesel engine. A 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine is expected to be offered with the Tusker and will be married to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The power figures for the same are expected to be upwards of 140PS, however, that could be limited to the international market. The India spec SUV is expected to have a newly developed 1.5L petrol and diesel engines that will be compliant with the BS-IV norms which will be imposed from April 1, 2020.

The Kia Tusker will be manufactured in the company's plant in Andhra Pradesh which will not only make the cars for the Indian market but will cater to the international market as well. The similar drivetrains from the Kia Tusker will be offered in the next generation Hyundai Creta to make the compact SUV compliant to the BS-IV norms. After the debut, the Kia Tusker will rival against the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Renault Captur and the Nissan Kicks.
