Jaguar will debut its XF in R-Sport trim at next month's Geneva Motor Show. It is available in saloon and Sportbrake guise and is the first Jaguar to get the new R-Sport moniker.
The exterior gets a sporty front bumper with small amount of chrome, R-type side sills, unique rear spoiler, gloss black window surrounds and 17-inch Ursa alloy wheels finished in Anthracite Gloss with 18-inch available as options. An extended black pack is available if you want to go all the way with the black theme for the outside look.
2015 jaguar XF R-Sport
The XF R-Sport is powered by a 2.2litre in-line, 4 cylinder, turbo-diesel engine giving out 163PS and a turning force of 400Nm. This is the only engine available on this trim and is matched to an eight-speed automatic tranny. The car does 0-100kmph in a claimed 10.5 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 209kmph. The company claims that the R-sport gives a fuel consumption figure of 24.5kmpl and a carbon emission figure of 129g/km. The engine has stop/start functionality for improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
Interior standard equipments include 7-inch touch screen display, navigation system, 250W sound system and Bluetooth audio streaming. Options available are electric rear window sunblind, adaptive cruise control and a Meridian 380W sound system.
The XF R-Sport is available from 33,995 pounds as mentioned on the company's UK website. Delivery and launch dates have not yet been confirmed yet though.

TSS/Stop-Start system The XF R-Sport's low emissions figures are helped further by Jaguar's Stop-Start system, which uses a Twin Solenoid Starter (TSS) to shut down the engine when the car comes to a halt and restarting it in less time than it takes for the driver's foot to move from the brake to the accelerator. The system also offers 'change of mind' functionality, enabling the engine to quickly restart even during its rundown phase to allow the driver to, for example, exploit a gap in traffic at a junction. An illuminated 'ECO' symbol appears on the Instrument Panel when the engine has been stopped by the system. Stop-Start can be turned off manually, but it will automatically be turned on again for the vehicle's next journey with every ignition cycle. The system operates in all modes apart from Reverse. The XF R-Sport has a secondary battery fitted specifically for engine re-starting, meaning that all the normal car systems - such as the entertainment system, the ventilation and lights - continue to receive power from the standard car battery and are unaffected by the re-start.
