The front gets larger and lower sitting central and side air intakes than the XFR-S sedan. The sides have an extended side sill and an aeroblade moulding behind the front wheels which are designed to keep the airflow pinned to the surface of the car for as long as possible. The same function is served by the aeroblade moulding which features behind the rear wheel as well. The six spoke, lightweight, 20 inch Varuna forged alloy wheels are standard with a dual tone finish. At the rear a carbon fibre diffuser with three lines sits centrally and goes deeper under the rear of the car to further reduce lift. The sporty look is further emphasized by the dual chrome exhausts at both ends. Customer gets the option of five colours comprising of ultra blue, ultimate black, stratus grey, polaris white and Italian racing red.

The powerplant is a 5.0litre supercharged V8 which is borrowed from the XFR-S saloon. It produces a mighty 550PS and 680Nm of torque. All that power is harnessed through an eight speed transmission with 'Quickshift' functionality, allowing the Sportbrake to blast through the 0-100kmph mark in a claimed 4.8 seconds. Company says that the top speed is electronically limited to a supercar like 300kmph. Jaguar says that the fuel efficiency for this car has also been optimised with spray-guided direct injection and dual independent variable cam timing. The fuel efficiency is a claimed 7.67kmpl.

The interiors get charcoal leather on the seats as well as the R-S logo. Seat finish can be done with contrast colour micro piping and stitching in red, blue or ivory shades. The dashboard too is done in dark aluminum with an adornment of the R-S badge.

Jaguar claims that this estate with sports car performance offers versatility and practicality. The rear seats split 60:40 and with them folded the luggage space is good for 1675litres. Handling of the car is enhanced by systems such as rear active electronic differential and dynamic stability control. Engineers also tuned the rear suspension to cope for the extra weight behind. The rear axle also has been modified and now has new anti-roll bars.

Commenting on the vehicle, Dean Murden, vehicle programme director, Jaguar, says"Combining real-world versatility with electrifying performance, the XFR-S Sportbrake brings Jaguar's sporting character to life in a truly engaging car that will satisfy the most demanding of drivers while fitting into the most active of lifestyles."
