JCB, the leading construction equipment manufacturer in India, has inaugurated two new manufacturing hubs in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This takes the total tally of manufacturing facilities by JCB in India to five with two in Pune and one in Ballabgarh in Haryana. Built with an investment of Rs 500 crore, the new facilities are spread across one million sq.ft  and will manufacture the skid steer loader as well as backhoe loader.

JCB will employ around 1000 people in these new factories. The site is just 35km away from Jaipur city and the foundation stone was laid in 2012. While component manufacturing is already underway, in 2015, production of the aforementioned products will begin next year. In 2015, additional backhoe loader capacity will also be added. The company in all makes 24 products in India out of which 20 per cent is being exported. There are more than 600 JCB sales outlets in India with plans of expansion in the near future.

Speaking about the Rs 500 crore investment in Jaipur, Lord Bamford, chairman, JCB Group, said: "The inauguration of the two Jaipur factories is a significant milestone for JCB, which has been making in India for 35 years and has grown to become one of India's most respected manufacturers. From small beginnings in 1979, I could never have imagined that our family business would employ 5,000 people in India making JCBs, with thousands more employed elsewhere in the supply chain. The new factories in Jaipur mean our contribution to the Indian economy will grow and I am grateful to the Rajasthan Government for their support in helping JCB make our investment ambitions a reality."
