Mahindra and Mahindra have launched their mini-Xylo, the Quanto in India. The company has priced it at Rs 5.82 lakh for the C2 trim, Rs 6.35 lakh for the C4, Rs 6.86 lakh for C6 and Rs 7.36 lakh for the top-end C8, ex-Thane. Powered by a new 1493cc twin-turbo engine making 100PS of power and 240Nm of torque, the Quanto gets a 5-speed manual transmission. Mahindra claims this is the world's smallest twin turbo engine and has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 17.21kmpl.

The interiors boast of the same ambience like the updated Xylo. Mahindra have also added twin airbags, engine immobilizer, ABS and reverse assist to the C8 trim. This is Mahindra's first sub 4-metre ladder frame SUV. There are plans of plonking in a bigger engine aligned to a 4-wheel drive system. Barring the C2, all other trims get the company's Micro Hybrid technology. Based on market maturity, the Quanto will be exported to Chile, South Africa and other European countries.
