Limited edition Skoda Rapid Rider launched in India at Rs 6.99 lakh
Skoda India has launched a limited edition variant of the Rapid sedan, called the Rapid Rider at Rs 6.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This will be the entry-level variant of the sedan in India, nearly a lakh lower than the Active variant. The company has not mentioned the exact number of units of the Rapid Rider that will be sold in India. This new offering will be available with the 1.6 litre MPI petrol engine only. It gets cosmetic highlights to distinguish the Rider edition from the regular variants. The two colour options that will be offered on the Rapid Rider edition are candy white and carbon steel. Skoda's nationwide dealerships have already stared accepting bookings and the deliveries should commence shortly.
The 2019 Skoda Rapid Rider edition gets distinctive black design elements which includes black facade of the grille, black side foils, glossy black vinyl on the B pillars and black trunk lip garnish. Inside, the sedan gets all new dual-tone ebony sand interior, with ivory slate upholstery. The scuff plates have the Rapid model name inscription. Features like dual airbags and anti-lock braking system are offered as standard. Further, the Rapid Rider comes with Parktronic rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rear view mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package, and engine immobilizer with floating code system. The 1.6-litre petrol MPI engine in the Rapid Rider is identical to that offered on the regular Rapid which makes 105PS and generated 152Nm of torque. Skoda claims that this unit delivers a combined fuel efficiency of 15.41kmpl.
