Live updates: 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga India launch
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga aims to build upon the rock solid reputation of its predecessor. The new MPV hops onto Suzuki's Heartect platform that also underpins Maruti Suzuki's other Superstars, the Swift and Dzire. There's more cabin room and bootspace along with a host of modern features. But the talking point is the addition of a new 1.5-litre petrol motor that joins the tried and tested 1.3-litre diesel mill. The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga launched in India at Rs 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom India). The new generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in 10 variants with the top-spec diesel variant priced at Rs 10.90 lakh.

The car gets a redesigned and more spacious interior as well. While it shares a number of components with the Swift and Ignis, the overall design of the dash is new. The colour scheme is a beige and wood affair.
The Eriga seats seven people . The third row can be reclined as well. Boot space is 153 litres (up 18 litres from before) with all seats up, expandable to 550 litres (up 50 litres) with the third-row seats folded and 803 litres (up 68 litres) with all rear seats down.
The 1.3-litre diesel motor from the earlier car with 90PS and 200 Nm will also be available in India. Gearbox options are a 5 speed manual and four speed auto

Mechanically, the most significant addition to the new Ertiga is a new K15B 1.5-litre petrol motor. This puts out 104PS and 138Nm. Increases of 13PS and 8Nm over the current car. The company claims this motor is 10 per cent more efficient than the earlier one
Maruti suzuki MD Kenichi Auykawa is on stage to begin the proceedings at the launch event in Delhi.
At the rear, the biggest change is the LED taillamps, these are now larger and cut into the tail gate in an L-shaped design. The rear windscreen is more raked than before and sits on top a new tailgate design as well.
The front fascia is completely new and now comes with wider double-barrel trapezoidal projector headlamps. The grille is now slightly larger as well and has heavy chrome detailing. The front bumper is more aggressively styled with a few prominent creases around the foglamps.

Dimensionally, the new Ertiga is 130mm longer, 40mm wider and 5mm taller than its predecessor but the wheelbase remains the same at 2,740mm.
The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga debuted at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show earlier this year and is now set to be launched in India today.
