Live updates: TVS Apache RTR 200 ethanol launch in India
TVS Motor is hosting a press meet in New Delhi today and the invite mentions that TVS Motor Company Chairman, Venu Srinivasan, and Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari, will be present at the do. TVS Motor organises its press conferences in Bengaluru or Chennai usually, but a press meet in the national capital in the presence of Gadkari, who has gained immense popularity over the past couple of years for his eco-friendly policies, only hints at the fact that TVS Motor is looking at an environment friendly product launch/announcement. Reports suggest that TVS Motor could launch an ethanol-powered version of one of its motorcycles, possibly the Apache RTR 200 4V. There is also a probability of this being being an electric offering. The biggest advantage of ethanol over gasoline, or petrol, is that ethanol is domestically produced from renewable plant sources, typically sugarcane molasses and alcohol remnants from sugar factories.
