Campervan Camps and Holidays India Pvt Ltd is a Bengaluru-based start-up that has introduced India's first commercially approved premium motorhome - the LuxeCamper. The company also offers holiday packages for its customers across the country. The customers are aided by a tech platform that allows them to choose from a set of recommended trails and configure their own trails to various destinations as well.

The LuxeCamper provides living and sleeping areas designed within a compact space that can accommodate up to four people. The camper has received approval from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) as per AIS 124 standards and has been modified to a premium motorhome.

The motorhome comes with a lounge at the rear end that doubles up as a queen bed along with a motorised, suspended queen bed in the front. It also has a wardrobe and thermal controls for both heating and cooling. There is a fully functional kitchen setup as well that includes an induction stove and gas hobs, toaster, electric kettle, a microwave oven, fridge and freezer.

The roof of the LuxeCamper has solar panels that use solar energy for charging the inverter batteries and powering the equipment, including heating and cooling. Other features include 4G WiFi, 230V AC power sockets, USB charging points, outdoor barbeque connection, external shower, awning with wind sensors, bicycle rack, five bidirectional fans, hot and cold shower, modern toilet, two smart televisions and Bluetooth music system. The safety equipment includes 360-degree cameras, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, speed governor and a GPS tracker.

The project is backed by investors like Anil Kumble, international musician Vijay Prakash, Aprameya Radhakrishna- founder of TaxiforSure, Jawad Ayaz - founder of CapriCoast, Subhash Dhar- ex-worldwide head of sales and marketing at Infosys, and Phaneesh Murthy from the IT industry. Also, former principal chief conservator of forests and head of forest force at the Karnataka forest department- Vinay Luthra was instrumental in building the eco-tourism chain of jungle lodges and resorts for halting the LuxeCampers and camping.

The company has initially started operations in Karnataka, but it will soon expand its range further in the country. The locations that are accessible at present include Aanejari, Bandipur, Bheemeshwari, Hampi, Kabini, Kodagu, Kudremukh, Sadashivgad, Sakleshpur, Sakrebyle and Sitanandi.

Tiger Ramesh, founder of Campervan Camps and Holidays India Pvt Ltd, said, "We are excited to introduce the concept of Motorhome-based holidays in India. Our endeavour is to offer an all-new safe and exquisite travel experience that brings together comfort and style, like never before! As there are no readymade motorhomes available in India for tourism purpose, we decided to design and manufacture our own motorhomes. With these beautifully designed LuxeCampers, our aim is to provide travellers the opportunity to deep dive into unexplored destinations by personalising their travel trails and activities."
