Mahindra and Mahindra has recalled the new-generation Scorpio and Nuvosport over faulty fluid hoses in the engine bay. This is a proactive recall to address the issue if defective.

Mahindra isn't giving out the number of cars being recalled but has confirmed that vehicles manufactured until June 2016 might be affected. The new-generation Mahindra Scorpio came out in September 2015 while the Nuvosport, the updated version of the Quanto, came out earlier this year in April.

The company has said that it will contact individual customer to set up service appointments and rectifythe issue free of charge. The recall will come in accordance withSociety of Indian Automobile Manufactures' (SIAM) policy on vehicle recalls as there is currently no formal policy to recall vehicles in India. SIAM's policy states that any manufacturer that has to recall vehicles will have to inform the public through the media and its official website. It also says that any safety defect will have to be rectified free of charge.

When we got in touch with a couple of Mahindra dealers, they said they were unaware of the recalls.
