Mahindra Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid technology launched at Rs 12.84 lakh
Mahindra and Mahindra have launched the Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid technology. As the name suggests, Intelli-Hybrid is Mahindra's new mild hybrid technology. The manufacturer is currently offering this technology on all Scorpio trims which are powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that makes 120PS and 280Nm of torque.
The Mahindra Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid is priced at Rs 12.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai) for the S10 2WD trim. In an official release, Mahindra has stated that 'Intelli-Hybrid reduces fuel consumption by up to 7 per cent by assisting the engine with electric power during acceleration'. The technology also automatically switches off the engine when the vehicle is stationary and utilises brake energy to charge the battery.
The Mahindra Intelli-Hybrid technology is being offered on the Scorpio's S4, S4+, S4+ 4WD, S6+, S8, S10 2WD and S10 4WD trims. Only the base Scorpio S2 trim which is powered by a 2.5-litre, m2DICR 4 cylinder turbocharged engine doesn't get Mahindra's Intelli-Hybrid technology.

By reducing fuel consumption, Intelli-Hybrid helps Scorpio owners contribute towards a cleaner and greener tomorrow."
In February 2016, Mahindra and Mahindra had launched a new 1.99-litre diesel engine for the new XUV500 and Scorpio models. The manufacturer launched this new engine to counter the Delhi government's ban on sale of diesel vehicles with an engine capacity of 2000cc and above. Last month, the company also launched the XUV500 AT with the 1.99-litre engine exclusively for the Delhi-NCR region. The company is contemplating introducing the 1.99-litre engine Scorpio and XUV500 models in other states if the diesel ban comes into effect there as well.
