Maruti introduces Wagon R Madhavan Edition in India
Maruti has introduced a special Madhavan Signature Edition of their Wagon R. This comes just a few weeks after the launch of the Stingray, which is technically the Wagon R with a few updates. Actor R Madhavan has endorsed the special edition of WagonR with his signature which adorns the side and rear of the hatch as body graphics. Madhavan is also the brand ambassador of the WagonR.
This special edition gets a few add-ons. One of the additions is a 2 DIN audio system from Kenwood along with USB and AUX capabilities. Rear parking sensors with digital display, Bluetooth kit, faux leather covering for seats and steering wheel, new door sill guard, full wheel caps and a rear roof spoiler are the other new goodies in the hatch.
The essence of the Madhavan Edition is basically added accessories. The Signature Edition is only being offered in the regular WagonR and not on the recently launched Stingray version. The accessories have been estimated to cost around Rs.32,000. But Maruti has advertised that buyers will have to shell out only Rs.20,000 extra over the standard Wagon R for these, thereby benefiting from a saving of Rs.12,000. Buyers will also get discount vouchers worth Rs.5,100 and in case of people opting to have their car financed, 0.5% of the interest rate will be discounted and there is also the promise of winning holiday packages and discount vouchers of upto Rs 5000.
MSIL had, a few months ago, also launched a rally sport package for their Swift. This was also an aesthetic and feature based upgrade. Expect more such versions of popular Maruti cars in the coming weeks.
