Mercedes unveils the 583PS SLS AMG GT
Mercedes-Benz has brought in a replacement for the SLS AMG â" the SLS AMG GT. The newest AMG in the line-up is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine which makes 583PS of power (up by 20PS) and 650Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed Speedshift AMG dual-clutch transmission. Mercedes claims that the new AMG GT will sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.6 seconds, a second earlier than the outgoing car. Top speed is an electronically limited but still lofty 315kmph.
As against the outgoing model, the new car has stiffer dampers and springs along with 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch at the rear. A new designo Style package has also been introduced with bespoke contrast stitching on the seats and doors. The new SLS AMG GT will be available on sale in both roadster and coupe forms from November this year.
