Ather's most affordable electric scooter 450S teased

Ather Energy has decided to expand its line-up with the new 450S electric scooter In India. The most affordable electric scooter from the company will cost Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom). It will serve as an entry-point to the brand 450 EV range. The Banglore-based EV start-up also offers the 450X and 450X Pro Pack electric scooters in the country. While the former costs Rs 1.45 lakh, the latter comes with a price tag of Rs 1.65 lakh (both ex-showroom, Bangalore).

New Ather 450S launched: Highlights

This new 450S electric scooter is claimed to use a smaller battery pack. As a result, it has a travel range of 115km, as per IDC (Indian Driving Conditions). As compared, the 450X pro Pack gets a 3.7kWh battery pack and offers a certified claimed range of 146km (105 true range). That said, the new 450S provides a top speed of 90kmph, which is identical to the 450X.

New Ather 450S launched: Colours and Features

The new 450S e-scooter, being the most affordable in the Ather line-up, is likely to miss out on most features. However, expect it to come with the Android-based seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, LED lighting, and disc brake setup. It is to be noted that the brand has not revealed other specifications yet. While the 450X are available with six colour schemes, the new 450S could be offered with similar or more paint options.

New Ather 450S launched: Rivals

The more affordable Ather 450S electric scooter competes against the Ola S1, Hero Vida V1 Pro, and TVS iQube. Having said that, Ather has yet to confirm full details about the e-scooter and also reveal its booking and delivery timelines.
