Production-ready KTM 390 Adventure spotted, launch by the end of 2019

The Adventure motorcycle segment has gained a lot of traction in India. There is almost one in every segment. Be it the recently launched the Hero Xpulse 200 or the most premium BMW R 1250 GS. However, one of the most anticipated ADV motorcycles that is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year is the KTM 390 Adventure. From speculative renderings to KTM India officially conforming the 390 Adventure for the country, it has been one of the most popularly discussed motorcycles. And now production-ready KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted which takes its design inspiration from the 790 Adventure.

It is being said that the engine powering the KTM 390 Adventure will be tweaked version of the unit offered in the KTM 390 Duke which we believe could make its way into the new-gen Duke that arrives next year. The state of tune is expected to change with a meatier torque to make sure the 390 Adventure doesn't feel strained while pulling weight of the rider, pillion and the luggage. As seen from the images, the test bike features a distinct exhaust and a catalytic converter, which will help it comply with the EuroV and also the upcoming BSVI emissions that will come into effect in India from next year. In terms of design, the frame of the  KTM 390 Adventure is similar to that of the KTM RC 390.

Additionally, the one spotted doing the test run was seen with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast wheels. In the past spottings, KTM 390 Adventure has been also seen with a 21-inch front and a 17-inch rear, which essentially means that there will be a road-biased tourer  and a more off-road focused R version as well. The 390 Adventure R might get a different state of tune compared to its touring sibling. Both these motorcycles will be made at Bajaj's Chakan plant that also produces the Duke and the RC series of motorcycles.

In terms of gizmos, the KTM 390 Adventure will be seen with TFT instrumentation and a host of electronics which could offer ride modes. The test KTM 390 Adventure is also seen with luggage options that could be offered as accessories under Power Parts. We are sure that KTM will unveil the production-ready machine at this year's EICMA show.
