Renault launches Lodgy World Edition at Rs 9.74 lakh in India

Renault has launched a special edition of the Lodgy christened as the World Edition at Rs 9.74 lakh, ex-Delhi. That's the base price for the 85PS diesel variant while the 110PS version has been priced at Rs 10.40 lakh, ex-Delhi. First shown at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Renault Lodgy World Edition gets 25 new enhancements both on the exterior and the interior. Mechanically, there are no changes and the Lodgy World Edition will be offered with the same engine options as the regular model.

On the outside, the Lodgy World Edition sports a new front grille with a chrome treatment. The bumper too has been tweaked with a dual-tone shade. The front fog lamps come with a chrome satin finish. The front and rear skid plates are shared with that of the Stepway edition while the 15-inch alloy wheels with the anthracite finish look similar to the new Renault Duster. In addition, the World Edition gets special body graphics, dual-tone roof rail, and matte black B and C pillars. There are four colour options for the Lodgy World Edition – moonlight silver, pearl white, royal orchid and fiery red.

The interior cabin space remains unchanged. It gets aesthetic additions such as orange highlights on the steering wheel, instrument cluster and the air-con vents. The same is also seen on the front and rear passenger seats. We believe the intention of offering the interiors with orange highlights was to make the cabin look sportier, but it might not be a uniform choice when it comes to customer preference. The only other car to have a similar treatment is the Hyundai i20 Active.

Powering Renault's MPV is a 1.5-litre dCi diesel motor available in two states of tunes. The lower-spec variant makes 85PS at 3,750rpm and generates 200Nm at 1,900rpm, whereas the higher-spec variant makes 110PS at 4,000rpm and 245Nm at 1,750rpm. The 85PS motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the 110PS uses a 6-speed manual transmission.

Along with the additions, the Lodgy World Edition features a special 3Care maintenance package starting at Rs 22,142. This package includes three years of warranty (up to 60,000km), three years of road assistance support (up to 60,000km) and three years of periodic maintenance (up to 30,000km).
