Skoda Laura TSI with DSG box launched in India
The Laura in India which is due for replacement in a few months gets a transmission update. The 160PS of a firecracker TSI motor now gets an optional 7-speed DSG in addition to the standard 6-speed manual. Available in the Ambition trim, the automatic Laura is priced at Rs 16.05 lakh, approximately lakh more than the similarly equipped 6-speed manual, ex-Mumbai.
The DSG-equipped Laura TSI claims to have a fuel efficiency of 14.6kmpl, which is better than the manual Laura's figures of 13.4kmpl. Skoda has updated the Laura TSI auto with 16-inch alloys and a fatter section of rubber( 205/55) as comapred to the manual variant's 195/65. The interiors are the same as the manual Laura TSI Ambition. As for the diesel portfolio, there are no changes and Skoda India is offering the Laura with a choice of two diesel engines fitted with 5-speed manual (110PS) and 6-speed automatic (140PS) transmissions.
