Dutch supercar manufacturer Spyker is contemplating its entry into the Indian car market in the near future. Spyker unveiled the B6 Venator Concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2013, when they spoke of India as a fast growing and important market. Supercars never sell in large volumes but Spyker seems to have some specific plans to enter India.

They have reportedly associated themselves with a New Delhi based business group to handle retail and service of its products. Spyker has two road permissible cars shortlisted. It may debut with the C8 Aileron, a classy grand tourer that runs on an Audi-sourced 4.2-litre V8 engine that generates 400PS of power and 480Nm torque. The C8 Aileron is capable of a 300 kmph top speed. The road version of the B6 Venator Concept, powered by a V6 engine, producing over 380 PS, could also be made available to the Indian masses (classes?). The high performance supercars are expected to be exorbitantly priced in India, costing upwards of Rs 2crore.

Spyker will soon release an official statement about the deal with the New Delhi based group. The carmaker is reportedly looking to start its India operations by the end of this year.

Some cars are rare and special. Spyker is one of them, exquisitely designed and masterfully engineered. For those who have not heard of the brand, the company originally began operations in 1880. During Word War one, they manufactured aircrafts and aircraft engines. The Spyker we know today has nothing to do with the original firm, and was founded in 1999 using the same brand mark. Spyker was also a Formula One team owner in the past, until it sold its stake to Vijay Mallya. The Spyker Formula One team was re-christened Force India and is now called Sahara Force India.
