Suzuki Gixxer Cup's fifth season announced - first race to commence on July 27

The fifth edition of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup will commence this weekend. For 2019, the season is spread across four rounds and is being run in conjunction with the JK Tyre National Racing Championship like before. This year's Gixxer Cup will have two categories - the JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019 for riders aged 17 years and above and the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup 2019 for riders aged between 12-16 years. There will be 28 riders competing in the Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2019 and five for Rookies Cup 2019.

As per FMSCI regulations, all riders competing in the Gixxer Cup have undergone training sessions prior to the start of the season to procure racing licenses. The series is organised with the support of FIM and under the aegis of the Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI) in association with JK Tyre Motorsports. The first three rounds will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore while the finale will be held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.
