Tata Divo luxury coach and Starbus Ultra launched

Two months after showcasing them at the Auto Expo, Tata Motors have launched the long distance inter-city travel bus â€" Divo and the intra-city bus â€" Starbus Ultra. The Tata Divo (BS III) price range starts from Rs66 lakh while the Starbus Ultra (BS III) price range starts from Rs15 lakh, ex-showroom Thane.

The Divo luxury coach will be used primarily for tourist operations. It offers customised interior features such as different seating layouts in semi-sleeper and seater configurations, wide seats with upto 135 degree recline with head flaps and armrests, saloon space with high roof, hat-racks with personalised controls for AC and reading lights, an entertainment system with DVD player and 2 LCD screens, on board refrigerator, mobile charging points, destination board and public address system. It is powered by a 289PS Cummins engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The driver gets a pneumatically suspended seat with an electronic accelerator pedal. Tata is offering a customisation option wherein customers can choose a preferred styling and colour scheme.

The Starbus Ultra has three variants, the Luxury, Standard, School and Deluxe variants with different seating configurations and wheelbases. It uses the trusted 497 engine with a viscous fan which claims to increase fuel efficiency and generate lower NVH. It has a 6-speed gearbox. The Luxury variant gets engine-driven individual AC vents for each passenger. The Deluxe variant gets reclining seats and rear, side luggage booths. Customers can also get factory fitted LCD screen and CD/DVD player on request. The School variant boasts of having 25 safety features. The range is available across all Tata Motors authorised dealerships.
