Tata Nexon SUV gets updated features list
Tata Motors has updated the Tata Nexon SUV with more features in keeping with customer feedback. A document has been leaked which shows that all but the base XE trim have had minor changes which are meant to improve its look and add more amenities.
On the inside, the XZ+ and XZA+ trims now have an additional 12V power outlet behind the rear seat. These variants also get their door trim finished in gloss black, from the earlier satin chrome. In these variants and in the XT and XZ versions, the rear blower has been replaced by a rear AC vent. Consequently, the blower speed knob has been eliminated too. Further, these trims get a new roof rail design.
For the XM, XMA and XT variants, Tata Motors has updated these variants' non-touch infotainment with new fonts. These also get a longer antenna. Additionally, these trims and the XZ one have got a new gloss grey trim on the dashboard. Also, the centre console and gear shift knob are now finished in piano black from the previous silver elements. The colour of the trim around the AC controls has changed to piano black, like on higher trims.
These changes apply to both petrol and diesel variants. The Tata Nexon's 1198cc, three-cylinder petrol motor puts out 110PS and 170Nm while the 1498cc, four-cylinder diesel engine is rated at 110PS and 260Nm. Both are available with six-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT.
These measures come at a time when the Hyundai Venue has shaken up this very competitive and tough to crack segment with its pricing. The Nexon's USP is its value proposition, and these updates will improve the car's look just that little bit to keep that image intact.
