TVS Srichakra enters European 2-wheeler tyre market with Eurogrip brand
Homegrown two and three-wheeler tyre maker TVS Srichakra has entered the European market. The company's first offering will be the Eurogrip Bee Connect range of scooter tyres, reworked to meet European conditions. These are also the first to come out of TVS Srichakra's newly established Product Design and Development Centre in Milan, Italy.
The Bee Connect line of tyres will be expanded to offer up to 40 different sizes and will be followed in a few months by a range of knobby tyres for off-road riding and a street tyre for medium and big displacement motorcycles, both in radial and cross-ply construction. The new line of Bee Connect tyres will also be launched in the Indian market in the replacement segment.
Silvio Montanari, research and development director of TVS Srichakra's Italian centre said of the launch, "Eurogrip Bee Connect is the result of a meticulous research and development process that involved all elements of the tyre: construction, tread pattern, compound and profile. Each prototype was subjected to a rigorous testing procedure, both indoor and outdoor in European racetracks and roads, and every tyre manufactured passes through stringent quality controls before reaching the market. We spare no effort in ensuring the best output and we're very pleased with the outcome".
TVS Srichakra products are available in 85 countries globally and the company is a major exporter of two, three-wheeler and off-highway tyres. It is a part of the TVS Group, India's largest auto component maker, and manufactures over 3 million tyres a month from its Madurai and Pantnagar plants.
