Upcoming Mahindra Imperio teaser revealed
Mahindra has revealed a teaser of its upcoming premium commercial pickup truck, the Imperio. The video mainly reveals the new grille, which might also make it to the upcoming facelifted Quanto. The Imperio was recently seen completely undisguised, and we know that there are other changes such as a new bumper, headlights and a different bonnet that distinguish it from the Genio.
With the new Imperio pickup, Mahindra will foray into the premium commercial space and will challenge the likes of the Tata Xenon pickup. Based on the Genio platform, the Imperio's silhouette and the rear are quite similar to the Genio with a few changes. We expect Mahindra to offer the Imperio in dual-cab and single-cab variants.
Under the hood, the new Mahindra Imperio will probably share its powertrain with the Genio. The 2.5-litre engine makes 76PS of power and 220Nm of torque at 1,400 to 2,200rpm and comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
