Updated Toyota Yaris launched in India - prices start at Rs 8.65 lakh

Toyota Yaris, the c-segment sedan gets cosmetic updates. The updates include a dual-tone paint scheme and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The updates have been extended in the cabin as well. The car now sports leather seats, leather steering cover and leather-wrapped shift knob. The infotainment system now gets Andriod Auto and Apple car play connectivity.

The bookings for the same have already commenced pan-India. The dual-tone schemed Yaris is available in the V optional trim and can be had in both automatic as well as manual transmission option. The manual transmission Yaris will set you back by Rs 11.97 lakh and the automatic will cost Rs 13.17 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom India).

Also, the lower trim of the Toyota Yaris gets a new J (optional) trim. The trim starts at Rs 8.65 lakh ex-showroom, which is Rs 10,000 cheaper than the J standard trim which had an introductory price of Rs 8.75 lakh ex-showroom. The J (optional) gets alloy wheels however, the trim misses out on seven airbags, instead only gets three airbags - driver, passenger and driver's knee airbag.

Mechanically, the sedan stays the same and is powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 107PS and 140Nm of torque. The Toyota Yaris still misses out on a diesel option. In the segment, the Yaris rivals the, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna and the newly launched Volkswagen Vento.
