$20 million investment in Erik Buell Racing by Hero MotoCorp?
Erik Buell Racing has received $20 million from foreign investors, which the company will use for building affordable motorcycles, the first of which will be based on the 1190RS but with less racing components. To build the additional motorcycles, EBR will also expand its Milwaukee facility. Reports hint at a starting price of Rs 11.19 lakh for the motorcycle in US.
Though Buell hasn't revealed the investor's identity, speculations are rife that it could be Hero MotoCorp. Earlier this year, the two had signed a strategic partnership through which Hero will receive technology inputs and design cues for their future models from EBR and in return, Hero will sponsor EBR's racing endeavours. According to this agreement Hero can also choose to sell Buell motorcycles in India.
