2013 Geneva Auto Show: Audi A3 e-tron

This is another concept car but it is essentially a window into what Audi has in store for the near future in terms of hybrid vehicles. The five door hatch uses a parallel twin hybrid system that utilizes a 1.4-litre turbo four cylinder that generates 150PS and 250Nm. This works in conjunction with an electric motor for a total of 204PS. Performance is scathing with a 0-100kmph time of just 7.6 seconds while top speed is 222kmph. Hybrids however are all about efficiency and the A3 e-tron is just that. It has a combined range of 980kmpl and can run upto 50km on pure electric power. Audi also claims a whopping 66.8kmpl. The future is looking very green.
