2013 Geneva Auto Show: Pininfarina Sergio Concept

The Sergio concept is a tribute to the legendary late designer Sergio Pininfarina. Known for many ageless designs, that include many Ferraris and most notably the F40, the tribute concept had to stand true to the history of the design house. And it has. The two seat roadster has plenty of interesting design elements â€" the roll bar integrates into the body with a neat swoop towards the rear, the front spoiler is detached from the main body and there's no windscreen. Instead, two helmets are housed in the interior recesses of the door panels.

The Sergio's mechanicals are based on the 458 Italia. The powertrain is the same 570PS 4.5-litre V8 mated to a seven speed sequential gearbox. The company says that 'this is a realistic car that could easily be produced in limited series' and thus uses functional parts of the 458 like the dashboard, seat structure, centre console and steering wheel.
