As an element to mark “90 years of BMW Motorrad”, BMW has revealed the R nineT.

It is essentially a cafe racer-style naked bike. It has a tubular steel frame, weighs 222kg (with fuel), has a 17-litre tank and 785mm ride height. ABS is standard fitment.

BMW-Nine-T

The 2014 R nineT is powered by a 1170 cc air/oil-cooled twin-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 110PS of power and 119Nm of peak torque. The modular frame concept with removable pillion frame and frame end-piece makes it ideal for customisation, claims BMW. The suspensions have been tweaked with an upside-down telescopic fork at the front and paralever at the rear. An exhaust system with two silencers and wire-spoke wheels with black rims and hubs add to the look of the bike. Bringing the bike to a hault are radial 4-piston monoblock brake callipers, steel-braided brake lines and floating 320 mm brake discs.

Many of the bikes aesthetics have been hand-crafted to give it a plush feel and make a statement that pays homage  to various role models from 90 years of BMW Motorrad. A classic Black storm metallic paint finish with contrasting silver and metallic highlights completes the BMW R nineT.
