2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 images and specs revealed
Suzuki has officially revealed the specifications and images of its new 2014 V-Strom 1000. The adventure bike was first displayed as a concept bike during the September 2012 Intermot Motorcycle Show. The all-new 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 has undergone through revision and carries a host of top-notch upgrades over the old liter-class Stroms. Let's take a look.
The 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 will be present at the 2013 AIMExpo in Orlando next month, and the price is rumored to be under Rs 10 lakh (UK price).
The 2014 model gets a new 1037cc 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC V-Twin that is good for around 100PS of power and 103Nm of peak torque.
Redesigned cylinders, cylinder heads, pistons, piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, clutch assembly and radiator, the company claims, have helped improve low and mid-range performance. The 6-speed transmission has been tweaked to provide touring-friendly ratios with a slipper clutch.
It is 8kgs lighter than its outgoing sibling. It has a fuel capacity of 20 litres and delivers around 21kmpl.
ABS and traction control come in as standard features. The traction control has two modes wherein one allows a little bit of wheelspin while the other keeps a tight control even on the slightest wheelspin. The stability comes from an aluminium alloy frame set on retuned suspensions.
The four paintjobs include Candy Daring Red, Glass Sparkle Black, Glass Desert Khaki and Pearl Glacier White
On the aesthetics, the front of the 2014 model is shaped like a beak with restyled headlights and an adjustable windscreen. Other changes include 19" multi-spoke alloys, rear LED lights and gold anodized front forks.
