2015 Hero Xtreme Sports launched in India at Rs 67,337
Hero MotoCorp seem to be on a launching spree this year. Their latest offering is the Xtreme Sports which was showcased just before the expo. It gets a design different from the already revamped Xtreme along with dual brow LED pilot lamps and an edgier street-fighter like headlamp. At first glance, the headlamp seems like an iteration of the Achiever's. From the sides, you can see a Pulsar 200NS influence. The tank, exhaust, meters, seats (split units) as well as the tail lamp look all-new. Indicators of the new Xtreme Sports look identical to the ones on the new Karizma twins.
The most important change for the Hero Xtreme Sports has happened under the skin. It borrows the familiar Honda-derived 150cc engine which, in the motorcycle, makes 15.2PS of power and 12.8Nm of torque. This is by far the highest power rating that this 150cc engine has been tuned for. The torque output is similar to what the Xtreme makes and so is the 5-speed transmission. For the Xtreme Sports, Hero offers the option of a disc brake at the rear as well - something which it offers with almost all its 150cc machines in India except the Impulse and Achiever. The single disc trim is priced at Rs 67,337 while the one with front and rear disc brakes is available for Rs 70,337. This is approximately Rs 1,000 more than the corresponding Xtreme trims. All prices are ex-showroom, Bhivandi. The motorcycle is available in Black, Digital Silver Metallic, Sports Red, Black-Sports Red and Abraxas Inferno Orange.
